Assignment 1 (WebQuest) can be connected to student development competency. Because WebQuest leads students to more independent learning Since WebQuest has a detailed instruction on how to do a certain task. Also, it leads students to use their higher thinking skills for a deeper understanding. As a result, they become responsible for their own learning. Also, it develops problem solving skills.
Also, it can be connected to assessment competency. Since WebQuest is a specific kind of web-based learning activity. So, it can be used as formative assessment in the class.
Assignment 2 (Technology Integration Matrix) can be linked to Learning Environment competency. The idea of the assignment was to evaluate the level of technology integration in the case presented in a certain video. So, in this assignment I had to select the most three (3) visible characteristics of the learning environment. So, this assignment helped me gain critical thinking skills when I was trying to determine the three characteristics of the learning environment in the case that is presented in a certain video. Also, while watching the video and saw how her students where engaged in her class, it motivated me to copy some of her methods and use them in my classes. Also, I think this assignment will help me develop in my career because in the future maybe I will be asked to evaluate the level of technology integration in some classrooms.
Assignment 2 can be connected to Communication & Instructional Technology competency too. Because In my job, if I was asked to evaluate the level of technology integration in some classrooms. I will gain knowledge in the technology tools used in the classes. Also, the technology integration matrix can provide the modelling and direction to help me grow in the ways I plan for technology integration.
